Mayburgh Henge (sometimes spelt Mayborough) consists of a huge circular bank of small boulders, with a single standing stone remaining in the centre. In the mid 19th century four stones were reported here, along with four more flanking the entrance to the henge. The stones of the bank average around 100mm in diameter and are boulders of the sort found at the bottom of glacial valleys, There bank is estimated to contain 1 million stones, and must have taken thousands of man-hours to build. Nearby is King Arthur's Round Table, a circular enclosure with a surrounding ditch. It originally had two entrances, but only one remains.
Access: The henge is 400m to the west of the A6, the Round Table
is at the south west of the junction of the A6 with the A592.

Rating: General Impression 3, Ambience 3, Access 4
Personal: Ambience slightly spoiled by nearby housing estates, but overall a memorable site.
