Stonehenge needs no introduction of course, and many other sites on the web cover it in detail, so I won't say any more except to guide you to my new (more serious) Stonehenge by night pages.
An anthropologist friend of mine was one of the thousands at
the Open Event at Stonehenge this summer solstice.

NEWS: Terence Meaden discovers possible carved head at Stonenhenge (BBC News Report)
Rating: General Impression 4, Ambience 2, Access 4
Personal: The visitor facilities at Stonehenge are pretty rough, and the stones themselves spoiled by the nearby A344 (which will hopefully one day be closed). I prefer the version shown above which is a Lego model from Legoland Windsor :-). In the background is a Lego model of Glastonbury Tor, which is 50-odd miles from Stonehenge in reality.
Both sacred sites in one place - no wonder the tiny Lego hippies are
going bonkers! Old-style Stonehenge policing in action :-).
