An unimpressive circle of fallen
slabs. I assume fallen as recumbent circles are not found in Southern England. My
photographs were taken into the setting sun. A good reason to visit this circle is the
outstanding view over Portland Bill and out to sea. The circle is shown on the OS map as
being a scheduled ancient monument, but it doesn't appear in Burl's comprehensive book
"Stone Circles of Brittany, Ireland and Britain". Any information on this
circle would be appreciated.
Access: Off the Winterbourne Abbas to Abbotsbury Road,
not far from the better known Nine Stones.

Rating: General Impression 1, Ambience 2, Access 0
Personal: When we visited five years ago we made the mistake of parking down a private road near the stones. I was intimidated by an off-road vehicle (bubble tyred 'beach buggy') while walking back, and chased half way to Dorchester by someone in a farm vehicle.
