Standing Stone in Monmouthshire

For information see Coflein NPRN 260725 , an extract of which reads: "This is an ancient standing stone erected (according to tradition) in early British times to commemorate a battle which was fought here between two kings or chiefs, one of whom was named Ifor. An irregularly shaped stone on the crest of a hill, 1.7m high by 0.7m by 0.4m. It is inscribed "M", facing Monmouthshire and "B", facing Brecknocks ... Currently at the boundary of 3 communities, Blaenavon, Llanelly and Llanfoist Fawr, all now in Monmouthshire. Exact date unknown."

All around are abandoned spoil heaps and coal tip's, the remains of a once thriving Iron making community. All gone now ,except for Big Pit mining museum on the far hillside here. A wild and windy spot now. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Carreg Maen Taro is a very handsome stone. It stands about 1 meter tall, with some smaller boulders at it's base. It also marks where several local communities meet: LLanelli;Llanfoist and Blaenavon; and the Brecon Beacons national park boundary also runs through here.
Carved on it's sides are two letters. On the Eastern side is an M, for Monmouthshire. On the Western side is a B, for Breconshire. The stone is now in Monmouthshire, but maybe at one time this was a county boundary too.
It also has some association with a battle that was reputed to have been fought in this area, a story shared by some local cairns (now lost to the spoil tips)
All in all quite an interesting stone, in a place with lot's of history.

There's something very special about a stone that stands on the boundary of different provinces, a stone of divisions and an entry point to the otherworld. That's according to Irish legend at least, are there any Welsh ones in the same vein Cerrig?

The only other one that comes to my mind is Carreg Waun Llech, and that's only a rumour as far as I know. There are others I'm sure.
