Antother 'goddess' like figure, this time in St Martin's churchyard.
The head and shoulder features were added later, perhaps in Roman times. Height 1.65m, the
same as the figure at Castel.
At some point the granite figure was broken in half - a deliberate act of anti-pagan vandalism?
I'm told the gran'mare shows up as a 'guest' in wedding photos taken outside the church to this day!
