Save Bremore  Popular
The development that concerns us here is the €300m deep water port at Balbriggan Co Dublin. This scenic and archaeologically rich area is under threat from industrial development. Bremore contains the 6000 yr old neolithic tombs comparable to Newgrange in importance. Bremore has been mooted as the new M3 and many protests are expected to emerge against development of this area.

Save the Holy Headland, Penzance  Popular
Stop the Destruction of the Sacred Heart of Penzance! The plan now is to build a combined passenger and freight ferry terminal to service the Isles of Scilly, along with another car park and numerous buildings and warehouses. The present Lighthouse pier will be extended, and the beach and rocky headland will be obliterated in the name of so-called "modern progress". So in the 1950s one side of the historic port was ruined, and now in 2008, the proposal is to completely obliterate the other side of the historic harbour and docks at Penzance.

Stop the destruction of Thorne and Hatfield Moors, South Yourkshire  Popular
Thorne and Hatfield Moors are the largest remaining lowland peat habitats in England. But this is not enough to stop them being ravaged by US multinational Scotts, extracting millions of tons of peat to sell to garden centres and farmers around the country. We want to stop the destruction. Resistance in the area has been increasing, but we're not going to stop until we've saved the moor, and preferably put Scotts out of business. But for this we need you, so read on...

The latest news for Penzance and West Cornwall  Popular
In the 1950’s, Penzance Harbour suffered a massive act of civic vandalism. Half of the harbour was landfilled and turned into a carpark. One might think that nowadays local government is more environmentally sensitive than it was back then. Apparently not. Our District and County Council now have their sights on the other end of the harbour with a development plan that is just as unfortunate. The fact that all the harbour walls and many of the adjacent buildings are listed by English Heritage seems to be nothing more than an inconvenience.
