This is the stone I mentioned to Dr Nick Le B tonight [19th Sept].  It lay in a narrow track from Corndon Tor to the interesting granite outcrop at the SE of Corndon Down.  I'm fascinated by these black knobby protusions and would imagine the ancestors might have found them 'special'.  However, this one didn't seem to have been incorporated in any monument.

This is the stone I mentioned to Dr Nick Le B tonight [19th Sept]. It lay in a narrow track from Corndon Tor to the interesting granite outcrop at the SE of Corndon Down. I'm fascinated by these black knobby protusions and would imagine the ancestors might have found them 'special'. However, this one didn't seem to have been incorporated in any monument.
(The SE outcrop - like a huge pile of granite pancakes - also had several 'knobs' on its upper levels.)
