Standing just to the west of the cross, looking at its location just above the road (its socket stone is hidden in ivy and brambles). The minor road just in front of the cross (to the right hand side of the photo) eventually joins up with a minor road called Yard Hill. To its right is a steep drop down to a babbling stream - a comforting sound in this shady spot.
