This is the Castle pub with its board showing an artist's impression of the castle, but I've not done any research on this. The photos of the church follow.

looks to me like a take on Dartmouth Castle. Cant think Axminster was ever beside the sea! Or do my eyes decieve me

Oh yes! I can see that now, Martyn!! lol. The painter may have gone overboard trying to represent the River Axe. The tower reminded me of the tower of the Minster church though.
