Killin Circle submitted by AlanJohnston on 21st Feb 2025. This stone was one of the circle that surrounded the cairn. Being sandstone it was no use for lime mortar and was used as a gatepost. It was returned to the site (early 1900's) and is the only remains in existence. There are vague carvings on the stone.

Log Text: This site was destroyed in 1826 when every stone was removed, crushed and rendered to lime mortar. It was documented as rivalling the carvings in Newgrange! The site had two monuments on two adjacent hills.
All that remains is a returned stone with vague carvings, presumably one of the stones of the surrounding circle. It had been used as a gate post and still has metalwork in it.
Access is on private land. I asked permission at a farm and they shrugged and said no one will care. I parked in a layby near the bridge (southern side), climbed a wall into the woods. Walk uphill and when at the top, walk SE to the lower hill 30m away. The one remaining artifact is lying there.
