St Bertram's Well (Bunster Hill)
Date Added: 12th Jun 2015
Site Type: Holy Well or Sacred Spring
Country: England (Staffordshire)
Visited: Yes on 9th Jul 2013
St Bertram's Well (Bunster Hill) submitted by Andy B on 9th Jul 2013. Here's a picture of St Bertram's Well taken on July the 5th. The wellhead is in a poor condition and needs preservative attention. One of the reasons why it looks like a pile of limestone rubble is that the local farmer who owns or rents the adjacent sheep pasture is piping water from the wellhead to his field. I know that the Megalithic Portal isn't a restorative organisation put perhaps you know who should be contacted for possible remedial action.
Sincerely,
Neil Theasby
