Zennor Quoit submitted by AngieLake on 18th Oct 2006. One more shot that is slightly different. The Quoit is so enthralling artistically, that even a slight move reveals another great design.
You can see how prolific the bracken was, but I was also delighted to see lots of wild cornflowers growing around its base.

The back of the little round cross is just visible in the top left corner of this photo. You can see the rare coffin rest in the centre of the entrance, and one of the granite 'settles' (there's also one on the opposite side). It was a *very* hot day, and Dr Burl and other important people were still cooling off in the marquee by the Kings Men, having walked to see these stones at the end of their new pathway to declare it 'open'.

Cuckoo Stone (Wiltshire) submitted by AngieLake on 10th Dec 2006. A twin shot of the western end of the Cuckoo Stone near Larkhill on 5th December. In the top close-up pic you might notice a round indentation at bottom right of stone, behind a tuft of grass. Don't know if this is significant, or just man's damage.
This was taken around 3pm, looking towards Woodhenge.

Blackaton Down north (Hamel Down) submitted by AngieLake on 22nd Apr 2007. The first Bowl Barrow approached from the south along Hamel Down's ridge. Also known (Butler) as Blackaton Down north cairn. Here it looks quite imposing, but is nowhere near as large as the higher Broad Barrow. The scattered sheep's bones in the foreground gave the scene a rather macabre ambience!
