Country: England (Oxfordshire)
Visited: Yes on 4th Jul 2005

Rollright Stones submitted by AngieLake on 4th Jul 2005. Rollright Monster??? This weird stone would look good in 'War of the Worlds'! On my first visit, I was stunned by the shapes of some of these gnarled and twisted stones. Here are two views of the tallest of the 'King's Men', taken after the Cotswold Pagans' ceremony on 19th June 2005.

Sennen Church
Date Added: 26th Sep 2010
Site Type: Ancient Cross
Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes on 3rd Sep 2009

Sennen Church submitted by AngieLake on 3rd Sep 2009. The large cross near the road in Sennen Churchyard was "moved from the centre of the new cemetery. It earlier served as a footbridge across a small stream north-east of Trevear for some years during the early 19th century, on the route of a very ancient pack-horse road via Chapel Carn Brea and Chapel Euny towards Penzance, but once doubtless stood by the side of the track."

Shovel Down submitted by AngieLake on 13th Nov 2009. Looking south from inside the grounds of Batworthy House [lucky friend lives there!] at the meeting of the double stone rows on Shovel Down. The smaller one just left of centre is the double row that ends in the small concentric circles of the cairn, with its large fallen portal stones. The Longstone would be over the rise to the top left.
