Carn Lês Boel submitted by JimChampion on 29th Aug 2008. August 2007. View across Mill Bay towards the Carn Lês Boel headland. The shallow inner ditch and bank are quite clearly highlighted by the low evening sunlight - look just above the shadowy chasm. There is a narrower, fainter outer ditch that reaches to the top left of the chasm - possibly an unfinished outer defence.

The Devil's Bed and Bolster
Date Added: 5th Jun 2018
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: England (Somerset)
Visited: Would like to visit

The Devil's Bed and Bolster submitted by JimChampion on 18th Apr 2007. In the foreground are the stones that presumably formed part of the end chamber in the tomb. Beyond are the stones at the entrance. The cut logs show that there has been some clearance of woody plants from the remains of the barrow mound. Ham Hill stone circle submitted by JimChampion on 22nd Aug 2005. The modern stone circle is surrounded by the old quarry's spoil heaps - this view, looking west, is from on top of one of these heaps. My umbrella-wielding assistant gives an idea of the scale, and an indication of the weather conditions.

Ham Hill (Somerset) submitted by AngieLake on 1st Jun 2006. This is a (composite) view of the summit of Ham Hill from the monument area, looking back at the small quarry (centre), with the modern stone circle far left. There are ridges in the western edge of the hill (right) that look like original Iron Age banks to me. Maybe I'm mistaken? Jim Champion might know this!
