Carnmenellis Giant's Cave submitted by Fungusman on 23rd Mar 2020. The Giant's Cave at Carnmenellis was tricky to find as it was very over grow when i visted. A big granite slab with a big chamber dug out beneath it.

The larger of the two Bronze age stone circles is 23m in diameter with at least 21 surviving stones at pits suggest at least 3 more. There is a slight mound in the circle may cover a burial.

This stone is different to the one in the other photo, it's only a few yards away, At the site the wall curves round in a semi circle, in the wall are two 9 footers (see photos) and two 6 footers, three of these would fall on a circle and one just outside. I couldn't help but imagine the wall not being there, just the stones on what would seem to be the circumference of a circle, it may be nothing, but I think it's a strange site.

Dragonby submitted by Bladup on 9th Nov 2012. I came to wake the Dragon up, there's a Romano-British settlement a few hundred yards to the south of the outcrop and the nearby sheffield's hill seems like a center for the trade of lake district langdale stone axes in the neolithic, by the amount found in the region, there's not much above ground but the place is full of ancient history.
