From Mawnan village follow the signs for about 1 mile to the Mawnan Old Parish Church which is situated on the clifftop 4 miles southwest of Falmouth Bay. The church dates from the 13th century. The well is on private land in the garden of The Rectory. A gate guards steep steps down to a sunken path leading to the well. The Southburn Archaeological Museum (SAM) displays exhibits of artefacts from all periods of history from Neolithic times, through the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Viking and Medieval periods.
