This rock is just NW of the prominent 'Haystack'. It has 13 cups, 9 of which have rings and grooves linking them. A further groove encloses the inner design.
This is ref 295 in 'Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding' & is the carving on the books cover.

Torhousekie stone circle
Date Added: 1st Aug 2019
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Scotland (Dumfries and Galloway)
Visited: Would like to visit

Torhousekie stone circle submitted by Anne T on 25th Jun 2019. In penance for me having cursed the White Van Man who pulled up in the layby immediately after us and sat there for ages, I had to walk around the stones to avoid getting him in my photos. Just after he'd pulled away, the heavens opened and the rain absolutely pelted down. The raindrops on my photo of the central stones (looking back towards the layby) are a reminder of how large and hail-like the drops were. Serves me right for being impatient!!

Tredinney Cairn submitted by JimChampion on 25th Aug 2005. Looking south at the cairn from the footpath across Tredinney Common. In the distance is the ever-present tower of St Buryan's church. Nice enough view from here, but I imagine its a pretty blustery place for most of the year.
