Hart Tor North Stone Circle, Dartmoor, Devon SX577717 The cairn at the top of the northern rows is about 9m in diameter, and is surrounded by a lovely ring of 15 stone slabs. It is possible that there is another ring of stones still present within the cairn. This is the view to the west, looking down the double row.

Burl does list the Hart Tor double row in the gazeteer of his book but it is under the section headed Avenues! A double and a single row each originate from two of three cairns. The double row is in good condition except at the lower end where tinning works have cut into it. The double row SX 5770 7170 is 126 m long azimuth 76 & has about 80 surviving sones. Log Text: A lovely double row with some substantial stones lading to well preserved cairn circle. Once can only guess this is an avenue to walk to the burial site which the cairn encircles.

Log Text: The Trowlesworthy sites are well worth a visit, though rarely are - park where the road ends car park (not marked on map) and walk round by the small pond. Beautiful rows with large stones frorDartmoor . West is a single row leading from ring cairn and fairy large stones closely placed together, with large blocking stone. December 2023

Trowlesworthy West enclosure submitted by TheCaptain on 22nd May 2013. A little way from the downhill end of the western stone row is a circular enclosure, about 10m in diameter. I am not sure whether this is some kind of settlement enclosure (too big for hut circle, too small for animal enclosure) or perhaps a ring cairn.
