Log Text: A really beautiful stone grave in the middle of the Wingster Forest. The path is very good, but only very poorly signposted. A GPS device definitely helps to find the right way.

Log Text: The tumuli are located in a small forest and are not directly accessible by paths. However, they are usually located directly on the edge of the forest, which makes it easier to find them.

Log Text: Most of the tumuli are damaged as described in the article and have already been excavated etc.
The hint for the hardly available car parking space is good, as you have to walk for some time before you can enter the forest.

Log Text: This huge boulder probably served as a landmark for the reindeer hunters thousands of years ago. The enormous number of archaeological finds suggests this. The size, when you stand next to it, is amazing.

Grabhügelfeld in Erichshagen submitted by Creative Commons on 20th Mar 2018. The Grabhügelfeld in Erichshagen is a barrow cemetery in Nienburg (Lower Saxony/Germany). The cemetery was used from the Neolithic to the Pre-Roman Iron Age. Today, four round barrows are still visible. Finds from the site can be seen in the Museum Nienburg.

Log Text: Several thousand stones were erected here by the National Socialist government. As a result, several previously preserved megalithic graves in the vicinity of Verden were probably destroyed. After its dark past as a National Socialist meeting place, the area now belongs to the Lutheran Church and is used as a local recreation area.

The barrow was believed to have no chamber, but Prof. van Giffen an his team (who were invited to examinate and excavate this site) discovered the passage grave chamber. It was well preserved except for the capstones.
