The capstone of the southern chamber is clearly visible. The northern chamber is to the right of it, but less obvious as the capstone is robbed. As at similar sites the kerb-stones of the narrow sides are significantly larger. June 1992

It is one of Denmarks most famous megalithic tombs: It even was depicted on the 50 kroner-banknote. Some barrow kerbstones are also visible on this picture [April 1992]. Scan from old diapositive, sorry for bad quality.

Log Text: Totally in love with this site as the ambiance is so beautiful. If it hadn't been so windy, I would definitely have stayed longer. The grave is well preserved as a dolmen, although the tumulus can still be seen to some extent.

Log Text: Definite recommendation from me to visit this museum. It is simply impressive both in terms of the type of exhibition and the technical (and flawless) scope. The large number of rune stones drew me here and I ended up in the museum for over 3 hours!
