Rökstenen submitted by Meginring on 18th Feb 2007. The four metric tonne Rökstenen is decorated with some 800 runes, carved on all sides and also on the top. It is the longest and most intricate runic inscription known in the world today.

Log Text: Because of the size and the length of the written rune text, it is probably the most impressive rune stone I have seen so far. A really detailed information center is just near the stone by the south of the church.

First excavtions were made by officers of Napoleon I. Some stones lowered but in 1824 A.D. stones brought back in their originally position.
In the stonegrave were found stonehatch...

Mehringer Steine 1 submitted by Martin_L on 5th Feb 2010. Site viewed from the East. Remains of a 7 (or 6) capstone megalithic tomb measuring appr. 14m x 3,5m originally with oval enclosure. The latter being completely destroyed except for one kerbstone remaining in the South-east. At least 3 capstones are robbed, another one is damaged by blasting attempts. The remaining capstones collapsed into the chamber. The chamber is partly embedded into the remains of the oval barrow. April 2009
