Date Added: 13th Sep 2016
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: France (Bretagne:Finistère (29))
Visited: Would like to visit

Ile Guénioc submitted by thecaptain on 17th Jun 2006. Just offshore from Presqu'ile Ste-Marguerite near the town of Landéda can be seen Ile Guénioc.
This island, which is difficult to get to, has on it three massive cairns with their multitude of chambers and dolmens within them. In order to get here a boat is needed, and I think that landing on the island is controlled.

Kroaz An Teureg alignement submitted by minteddy on 13th Dec 2006. This view gives an indication of how slender the stone is – compare it with the fence post. The fence post also gives some indication of its size.

Currently (2019) being excavated, it has been rich in discoveries with the update in the butte of a large megalithic architecture containing 3 Dolmens that have not been open for 4000 years!
The archeologist in charge of the excavations is Florian Cousseau. "The results are beyond what we could expect, can't wait for the next few years!"
