(ENG) Pontremoli's museum of Statue stele.
Lunigiana is one of the biggest european site for this kind of "stones". There are 3 kinds of statues here, and some of them are most recent found in Europe. Probably here this kind of culture survived until the iron age.
"A statue menhir is a type of carved standing stone created during the later European Neolithic.

Yonder Bognie Warden submitted by cosmic on 22nd Mar 2004. Yonder_Bognie at NJ601458 in Aberdeenshire is rated by Burl as a Class 3 Circle but I felt it deserves more due to its impressive recumbent.
The recumbent at about nine feet long by five feet high is almost flat on top and is one of the most impressive I've seen. The circle especially to the west side seems to have some rogue stones dumped into it - there is a profusion of stones around the perimeter of the neighbouring fields!
The owner lives at Kirkland Farm and seemed happy for me to vi...

Rocky Hill
Date Added: 22nd Jun 2014
Site Type: Ancient Cross
Country: England (Isles of Scilly)
Visited: Would like to visit
Rocky Hill submitted by Thorgrim on 19th Aug 2004. This early cross is now located in the garden of Rocky Hill Farm on St Mary's. It was formerly one of two High Crosses of St Mary's (the other is now on the gable end of Old Town Church). It was originally sited at Haycrosse and then, after losing its shaft, cemented to a hedge on Salakee Down (a "hedge" is the name for a dry stone wall in Scilly). Moved again when the airport was built - it now lives among the bizarre stones collected in the garden at Rocky Hill.

Haroldstown submitted by KenWilliams on 27th Aug 2005. Taken 26th August 2005, just after nightfall. Using flash on the outside and torchlight on the inside, I took quite anumber of shots with this combination and also with single light sources. Not entirely sure which ones worked and which are OTT but I liked this one in particular because my dog managed to sneak into the frame when I was otherwise busy!
