Cyrene submitted by AlexHunger on 12th Nov 2008. Site in Libya: Tomb of the founder of Cyrene; Batus I. His real name was Aristoteles but adopted Batus for himself and his dynasty as it was a North African tittle for King.
Note the large rock slabs of which there once were more. The tomb was destroyed during a Jewish revolt around 120 CE.

The arch is at the crossroads of the Cardo and the Decumenus, the later continues on as the major Roman road connected Tunisia and Egypt.
The arch was found largely destroyed by the Italians in the 1920s and virtually completely restored by 1994.

In the western Ghats, lush green with a lot of waterfalls, sandal wood forest, tea and cardamon plantations, on the Eastern bank of the Pambar river, big size Dolmen Field, more then 3 KM, the local call it Muniyaras.
To get there from Munnar, Mr. Joseph M. Iype in the Tourist Information Service in front of Gandi statue and ask for Tomas to take you there, as he know all the site.
