Le Grand Dolmen de Bagneux submitted by DrewParsons on 4th May 2010. In April 2010 the price of entry to the Grand Dolmen gardens was €3.50 for adults, well worth the cost. Anta do Pinheiro 2
Date Added: 10th Jun 2012
Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen
Country: Portugal (Évora)
Visited: Yes on 4th May 2010
Anta do Pinheiro 2 submitted by DrewParsons on 4th May 2010. Visited in April 2010 the site has barbed wire around an enclave in front of it restricting access. The sign on the fence I later looked up in my dictionary and only meant "No Hunting", but it stopped me accessing the site. This view is taken from the road 20 metres away from where you can easily see the dolmen.

Site Type: Ancient Village or Settlement
Country: Iraq
Visited: Yes on 5th May 2010
Babylon. submitted by DrewParsons on 5th May 2010. Parts of the Ishtar Gate and lions from the Processional Way are in various other museums around the world. This one I saw in the Louvre in Paris in 2009. When I visited Babylon in 1963 there was little evidence of anything historic left, the site was mostly mud rubble except for a stone lion. Placed with a flock as a puppy they grow up with the sheep and see them as their pack whom they guard. He was a nice looking dog however!! April 2010.

This photo flatters the remains. I had to hund around amongst a landscape of natural stones to find it as it blended in so well with its rocky surrrounds.
