Apollonia (Libya) submitted by AlexHunger on 12th Nov 2008. Site in Libya: Apollonia Greek theatre directly next to the sea shore. The theatre was once at a safer distance to the shore, but a 4th century CE earthquake dropped the entire North African by a couple of Meters.

Aphrodisias Theatre was built in the second half of the first century BC. The theatre was repaired and altered in the second century AD and again in Byzantine times after earthquakes when it was converted into a fortress. It was first excavated in 1966.

Anundshög Mound submitted by DrewParsons on 1st Oct 2011. One of the many site signs here. This one describes a 3500 year old port facility excavated near the mound. During the Bronze Age around 1400 BC the shoreline was very close to the mound. September 2011.
