As it happened this pa and others around the Whangaparaoa Peninsula received their heaviest attack from the Nga Puhi tribe arriving by sea from the north. June 2012.

Okura 784 Settlement & Midden submitted by DrewParsons on 15th Jun 2012. A view of the midden's exposed face above the river. The midden is one of many along the Okura river and is evidence of the settlement of this region my Maori peoples. The midden contains the debris of the adjacent long abandoned settlement. Burial Chamber with (broken) capstone.
Somebody broke the capstone into two pieces. Obviously the split didn't work out as planned, so the smaller part fall into the chamber and was left there. What a pity !

in NNW-SSE orientation along the east border of the meandering river
Radegast, 4km NNW of the town Gadebusch.
It is a mixed forest, and you can enter it from the NNW end near Neu Benzin.
A small path leads you along the forests border, and you come along a number
of very old trees with almost 2m diameter.
(It might be mosquito infested in summer)
There are the remains of four tombs in this forest.

Göbekli Tepe submitted by AlexHunger on 1st Aug 2006. Segment D is one of the near circular shaped pillared areas in the best condition of Göbekli Tepe.
There are 5 more, usually smaller such pillared areas on this site, many of the pillars having elaborate carvings.
Göbekli Tepe is apparently a Pre Pottery Neolithic Temple dating back to about 9,000 BCE near the Euphrates in South Eastern Turkey.
