Palmyra Valley of the Tombs submitted by AlexHunger on 14th Jan 2007. Tomb of Elabel, a familly tower crypt dating to 103 CE. It had room for 260 people.
Outside of Palmyra, a desert trading town. Perhaps the Las Vegas of its day.

Damascus National Museum submitted by AlexHunger on 11th Jan 2007. Major archeological Museum in Damascus. It holds the more valuable small objects, such as clay tablets and jewelery from the significant Syrian archeological sites such as Ebla, Ugarit or Mari. There is a Lapidarium outside with mostly Roman or hellenistic parts of statues, sarcophagi and decorative objects.
The pre Roman statues are mostly in the Aleppo Museum.

Mactaris Numidian Tomb submitted by AlexHunger on 26th Mar 2008. Large Numidian Megalithic tomb measuring 12 x 4.5 Meters next to Numidian-Roman City. South Side. It has 6 chambers all next to each other. The style is as if the locals had been influenced by Egyptian mastabas and French Allé Couverte and the odd Maltese temple.
The Numidian Megalithic tombs tend to begin in the 5th century BCE and end in the middle of the 2nd Century BCE.
As much of Mactaris has not been excavated from a 2 Meter layer of dirt, I suspect that there ight be a couple more of...
