Sunhoney submitted by hamilton on 5th Dec 2010. Sunhoney Stone Circle in Deep Snow.

Sunhoney Stone Circle suggested itself as a great location, though it was hard going reaching it. The path from the farm leading to the circle was under almost half a metre of snow (frequently spilling over the top of my gaiters), and it took me all of five minutes to struggle along its length. The reward, however, pro...

Easter Aquhorthies submitted by hamilton on 10th Dec 2010. The heavy snowfall of early December 2010 made access to Easter Aquhorthies Stone Circle tricky. But on this cloudless, freezing day it proved well worthwhile. This is one of several enchanting images I took on the day.

Binghill submitted by hamilton on 21st Dec 2010. Binghill Stone Circle can scarcely be described as picturesque at the best of times. But when I visited it on the day of the Winter Solstice, 2010, and took this panoramic photograph at precisely noon under conditions of deep snow, it sparkled with life and character.
