Log Text: Drive all the way down Church Lane to St Mary's Church. There is parking for a few cars. A short path leads down to the well to the right of the church. It can get quite overgrown with butterbur during the summer months but path is walked regularly by dog owners along the Bunyan Way along the River Ouse which seems to keep the leaves from covering the path totally. Offerings of flowers, coins and shells are often visible in the spring water making me think it is frequently visited. Crystal clear water, very cold and I regularly have a drink with no ill effects!

Log Text: We parked up at the side of the road and were able to get some good views of this barrow. It is pretty overgrown with mature trees and obviously the pill box has damaged the structure of the mound.

Log Text: The long barrow is on the road out of the village of Pitstone. Ample parking by the side of the road. The barrow is surrounded by houses but be warned - I was challenged by an aggressive woman who thought I was photographing her house. I explained I'd come to visit the barrow but she didn't know what I was talking about.

Three Hills Barrows, Woodford submitted by JoAtherton on 25th Jun 2023. Couldn't resist mound hunting this morning, heading over the border into Northamptonshire to visit the Bronze Age Three Hills near Woodford. Tremendous views across the Nene Valley beneath big, billowy skies. Felt like you could touch the heavens. I guess that was the intention.

Log Text: Managed to park in a layby and walk about 10 mins down the main road to the footpath. Gradual climb over uneven ground to the summit of the hill where the Three Hills can be found. They have a wide margin around them protecting them from the plough - fabulous for butterflies and birds. Great views across the Northamptonshire countryside from the top of the mounds. They were covered in long grass during my visit so it was a challenge to see their actual shape but they don't appear to be perfect humps, with dense vegetation growing in places. Well worth the visit if you're passing but not as dramatic as others I have seen.
