Mane Guen Pierre de Sacrifice

Mane Guen Pierre de Sacrifice submitted by JohnGinny on 11th Aug 2007. A powerful place with views to the west and a stone with human shaped hollows. It does not take much to let your imagination run freely here - especially with the carved seat overlooking the business end of the sacrifice stone. A local assured us it was used for such purposes once, and not sheep!

The Roche Longue is directly north east about 250 meters away. They are delicately shaped stones located fairly high up (187 m) on the hill rise.

Botudo menhirs

Date Added: 14th Mar 2011
Site Type: Standing Stones Country: France (Bretagne:Côtes-D'Armor (22))
Visited: Yes on 2nd Sep 2007

Botudo menhirs

Botudo menhirs submitted by JohnGinny on 2nd Sep 2007. There are two menhirs at this location, which leads us to suspect it is an alignment. The first menhir was accessible, but the second one located in the field on the other side of the road was surrounded by that bane of all megalithic hunters - maize! We could find no reference to this second menhir - it was not on the Series Bleu map, nor could we get close, so John took a long shot standing on top of a big round straw bale. We will investigate during the winter.
