Botudo menhirs
Trip No.26 Entry No.43 Date Added: 5th Jan 2019
Site Type: Standing Stones
Country: France (Bretagne:Côtes-D'Armor (22))
Visited: Yes on 25th Jun 2005. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 3 Access 4

Botudo menhirs submitted by JohnGinny on 2nd Sep 2007. There are two menhirs at this location, which leads us to suspect it is an alignment. The first menhir was accessible, but the second one located in the field on the other side of the road was surrounded by that bane of all megalithic hunters - maize!
We could find no reference to this second menhir - it was not on the Series Bleu map, nor could we get close, so John took a long shot standing on top of a big round straw bale. We will investigate during the winter.

Bougon Tumulus D submitted by TheCaptain on 29th Aug 2010. Bougon D seems to be more a defining line separating the necropolis into two parts and it winds in a serpent like form between the quarries used to get the stone to build the other tumuli.
It is about 70 metres in length, but only 1 or 2 metres in width and height.

Bretsch Steingrab 3 submitted by holger_rix on 21st Aug 2012. Long Barrow with Chambered Tomb in Saxony-Anhalt
A 32 x 7m rectangle shaped Long Barrow.
32 of the kerbstones are still there, most of them
fallen and out of place.
In the east, there are two pretty big flat stones;
most likely former capstones of the tomb.
One of them has about 27 cupmarks.
The tomb in the middle of the barrow has been
set up with five orthostats on each long side.
Chambers size 6 x 1.8 x 1.5m.
One original capstone has sunken down,
fragments of another...

This was a lovely visit in the early morning sun, with dew and a bit of frost making everything sparkle, and some happy and contented cows wandering around in the surrounding fields.
