Country: France (Bretagne:Finistère (29))
Visited: Yes on 14th Jun 2004. My rating: Condition 4 Ambience 4 Access 3

Lespurit-Quélen menhir submitted by paulcall on 22nd May 2009. A general overview from ground level this time. This is a marvellously peaceful place to visit, and I met about 20 french walkers here, who were very obliging, and left me to my own devices to photograph the site. It was the only site I visited on my stone hunting trip in Finestere where I met anyone else, even though it was probably the furthest from any road! GPS 47.95365 N 4.32390

Dolmen de Penquélenne submitted by minteddy on 15th Aug 2012. Lessons to all megalithic monument hunters. (1) Accept kind offers of locals to show you where monument is - I didn't. (2)Be wary of looking for monumdents when the maize is high - I didn't. (3) Take a gps and reference with you - I didn't. This monument is about 50 metres into the field of maize so almost impossible to find in high maize

Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: France (Bretagne:Finistère (29))
Visited: Yes on 14th Jun 2004. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 5
Menhir des Droits de l'Homme submitted by thecaptain on 19th Dec 2006. This large menhir was erected here and inscribed in 1840 to commemorate the shipwreck of the "Droits de l'Homme" in 1797 with the loss of around 600 lives.
The stone is a real menhir moved here from elsewhere. It's next to a car park besides this phenomenal beach, with the surf pounding in all around, creating its own fog !
