Herssum Steingrab

Herssum Steingrab submitted by RunaStera on 30th May 2005. Hunebed #867 in the County of Emsland (EL). It is deep in the forest between sandy dunes. No capstone is in position, but the size and the large stones are impressive. It is 20 m long, in the middle 2 m and at both ends 1.5 m wide. The Entrance is, like at all "Emsländische Kammer"-Graves in the south. The direction of the chamber is West/East with 284°. The oval stonecircle around the chamber is not complete. Easy to find hunebed, because the County of Emsland installed large directions signs...

Huenensteine Thuine

Huenensteine Thuine submitted by RunaStera on 9th Apr 2004. Großsteingrab in der Kunkenvenne it is called 1841 A.D. as the most awesome and nicest stonegrave in the Kingdom of Hannover. It has 17 yokes and is 27m long. The grave is build in the typically east-west-direction (235°) with a passage in the south. Very special is, that the oval border circle is doubly. First excavtions were made by officers of Napoleon I. Some stones lowered but in 1824 A.D. stones brought back in their originally position. In the stonegrave were found stonehatch...
