Kerlescan North Cromlech

Kerlescan North Cromlech submitted by LizH on 31st Oct 2007. This shows some of the stones on what would be the western side of the cromlech, embedded in a more modern wall. The trees and gorse are also visible. This was taken in one of the most open stretches of the wooded area, so not indicating how difficult it in fact was to see or move!

Kerjean menhirs

Kerjean menhirs submitted by LizH on 2nd Nov 2007. These stones are not in the same location exactly as the Kerjean menhirs, but are found alongside the path from Kerzerho to Mane Groh. Some vegetation has been cleared but they are still in a landscape which is tree and gorse (although it is possible to walk among them).

Moustoir Champ de Menhirs

Moustoir Champ de Menhirs submitted by LizH on 6th Nov 2007. This shows one of the fallen stones in the wood surrounding it. It indicates some of the thickness - but also that some of the stones were quite well sized. I have no idea which way it was aligned!

Cromlech du Menec-est

Cromlech du Menec-est submitted by LizH on 6th Nov 2007. This rather dim picture does make clear the different direction of the stones in the cromlech from those of the Menec alignments which are behind them. The stones of the western arc of the cromlech face into the space in front of it.

Kermario Alignements

Kermario alignements

Kermario alignements submitted by LizH on 6th Nov 2007. At the Petite-Metairie crossing, just east of where the road to the restaurant crosses the rows, there are some stones which appear out of place with the rows alongside them. They are both bigger and face in a different direction. Burl suggests they are the remains of a different alignment which led to the south.

La Table du Sacrifice

La Table du Sacrifice submitted by LizH on 6th Nov 2007. In this picture, the furthest north stone (lying) can be seen. Behind it, however, at the back of the picture, this stone looks more as if it could be a 'table' and even possibly a 'sacrifice table' in the minds of those who named it. I am not sure which one is the official 'Table du sacrifice'.

Glenmacoffer submitted by LizH on 19th Aug 2008. Not a very good picture, I'm afraid, as the cows were not co-operative and would not get out the way.
