Log Text: I have driven past the Craigbirnoch cairns many times without being aware of their existence. They aren't obviously visible in the landscape. I found them using Canmore Search Map.

Log Text: Robin Hood's Stone is the definitive example of an anachronism, a standing stone in an urban environment. The green iron railings which imprison the standing stone emphasise it's alienation.

Log Text: Gallop Hole Cairn is located c. 400 yards S of Haggstone Moor Kerb Cairn. It is in a rough pasture field accessed via a sheepfold adjacent to the Loch Ryan Coastal Path.

Log Text: North Uist is a remote island but conversely Pobull Fhinn Stone Circle is relatively easy to visit. There is a road to Langass Lodge off the A867 (c. 250 yards SW of Barpa Langass Car Park). A path from Langass Lodge heads NW for c. 450 yards to Pobull Fhinn Stone Circle.

Log Text: The main difficulty in visiting Pennance Entrance Grave is finding somewhere to park. The monument has been thoughtlessly ruined by modern farming, yet it retains some ancient ambiance.

Two Eggs (N) 02 submitted by Rich32 on 2nd Aug 2019. This photo shows the 'Two Eggs' as found identified on the Ordnance Survey Maps. Both stones have cup-like natural depressions on the upper surface.
It's worth noting, whilst Ilkley Archaeology Group gave the same OS coordinates for the Two Eggs, they photographed completely different stones. Interestingly the stones they photographed are more 'egg-like' in shape. Maybe OS assigned the name to the wrong stones.
