but as id seen from recent photos posted on the portal the bracken and heather seemed low so i went again and this time it was worth the (considerable) effort of finding it

Impressively situated on the hillside close to St. David's Head, Coetan Arthur is the collapsed chamber of what is presumed to be a passage grave which also has a round barrow. The massive capstone measures approximately 5.9 meters by 2.6 meters and is supported on one side by an orthostat approximately 1.5 meters in height.

One of the finest examples of prehistoric rock art in the Peak District. Discovered in 1965 on a large earthfast boulder 25m east of the enclosure , the design consists of a series of cup and ringmarks together with a small spiral and two circles that enclose multiple cupmarks. Harrys Stone submitted by MartinRS on 16th Aug 2013. The site of Oxdale Lodge, by the side of Houndkirk Road. Fairbank's 18th Century map shows Oxdale Lodge to be the location of Harrys Stone. According to Addy, a 19th Century historian, 'Harry is the Anglo-Saxon hearh or hearg (pronounced harry), meaning a temple or idol.'
