D14 Eexterhalte submitted by Martin_L on 19th Oct 2009. The site viewed from the East. Looking down from a height of approximately 3,5m. The chamber of this large passage grave originally had 9 capstones 6 of which are (still) in situ. While the central and eastern parts are well preserved the western part is damaged. Remains of the lateral passage are visible to the left (South) of the chamber. The earthwork is largely removed and/or eroded. May 2009

D22 Bronneger

D22 Bronneger submitted by Martin_L on 12th May 2009. 5 orthostats and 2 large capstones are left of this passage grave. Possibly in situ. But the chamber is deeply hidden in the ground. Only the 2 capstones and one orthostat are visible nowadays. There is an enormous tree growing beside the tomb. All in all a very atmospheric site. (May 2009) Remark: the lens hood was removed to get some lens flares.

D23 Bronneger

D23 Bronneger submitted by Martin_L on 7th Oct 2009. The very beautiful westernmost chamber part. Deeply embedded remains of a smaller chambered tomb (most probably a passage grave). Original size unknown as the eastern chamber part is destroyed. The westernmost capstone was fallen when Professor van Giffen examined the site in the early 20th century, but it has been placed back on its orthostats later. Another capstone is preserved but fallen as well as some orthostats. IR. June 2009.

D25 Bronneger

D25 Bronneger submitted by Martin_L on 7th Oct 2009. The site viewed from the South-East. Well preserved 4-capstone passage-grave. Orientated approximately West-East. It appears to be slightly trapezoid being more massive in the West. The tomb is deeply embedded into the sandy ground like at the nearby sites. Clear height of the chamber therefore is significantly reduced. June 2009

D30 Exloo submitted by Martin_L on 25th Jun 2010. The 4-capstone passage grave viewed from the East. Chamber length 7,3m (clear 6m) Width varies from 3m to 3,4m (clear 2m) The chamber is deeply embedded into the sandy ground. All orthostats were (and still are) preserved in situ when van Giffen examined the site in the early 20th century. Capstones C1 (counting from the North) and C2 were robbed, C3 was fallen and C4 in situ. Obviously C3 was placed back on its orthostats and C2 probably was replaced. The passage has preserved one pair...
