Moustoir tumulus submitted by thecaptain on 10th Jun 2006. This massive great mound, 90 metres in length, 40 metres wide and 8 metres high, can be found just to the south of the hamlet of Moustoir, a few kilometres to the north of Carnac.
It has become terribly overgrown.

Six are in situ, one is moved by the tree visible lower left photo edge. Three out of four capstones are robbed. Only fallen capstone C1 (counting from the West) remained.

Neutestorf Langbett 1 submitted by Martin_L on 12th Aug 2012. Location of the kerbed and chambered long-barrow Neu-Testorf I viewed from the West. Sprockhoff 270 (Neu-Testorf I) and 271 (II) are towering on a ridge with widespread view. Even the baltic sea is visible from here.
The numberings are mixed up on the map in Sprockhoff's Atlas. So this site-page in fact is that of Spr. 270.

Partly damaged round barrow probably from bronze age (Diameter approximately 20m, height 1,5m). Site is located on a hill-top named Nonnenberg (translates as “Nuns hill”) and offers a panoramic view over the surrounding fields and towards Ankum in the South.

Unfortunately several other sites in this woodland are badly neglected and now in a very bad state of preservation esp. as the are heavily overgrown by moss. The roots are disintegrating the surface. But luckily not in this case.

This is one of the large passage graves of the funnel beaker people's western group. It is oriented SW-NE. The lateral passage faces SE. As usual it is situated at the centre of a long-side.
The megalithic ensemble is almost complete except for the southwestern third. The chamber deeply embedded into the ground. Only the tops of several chamber orthostats are visible. Due to the damages in the SW it is difficult to give the ...
