Stobo Kirk standing stone

Stobo Kirk standing stone

Stobo Kirk standing stone submitted by nicoladidsbury on 14th Oct 2007. Stobo Kirk There is a very long stone in the fabric of the wall of the chapel. There is also a smaller long stone, which is the same colour. Could this be a fragment of the larger stone. And could this once have been a standing stone. There is a similar stone in the other wall. This is a very ancient site, and it is possible that St Kentigern chose is for his church because of its pagen importance, so it could be a standing stone. 2 miles to the NE are a pair of standing stones.
