The walk from Uffington Castle and the white horse, along the ridgeway was beautiful too. This site was used in Manda Scott's "Crystal Skull", and was brilliantly described, making me want to visit the site even more...

When we went there, there were diving, crying Lapwings shouting at us to be careful of their nests. It really added to the atmosphere.

This picture shows all three stone, but the third stone is hidden in the shadows of the trees in the distance. Beautiful stones well worth the diversion off the A1.
