Axstedt Huenensteine submitted by SolarMegalith on 27th Apr 2009. Steingrab in Axstedt. Unfortunately the monument isn't signed on the main road - in the village Axstedt you need to turn left and then right on the crossing. The tomb itself is in poor condition, only one capstone is left.

Two orthostats of the lateral passage are visible to te left (SE) of the chamber. Clear width of the remaining chamber part varies between 2,9m and 3,8m. October 2009

Visbek Steingrab 1 submitted by madcat on 27th Apr 2006. This grave is part of the ensemble of megaliths around the Visbeker Brautigum (bridegroom). It lies very close to the busy A1 highway.
Interestingly, the chamber seems to have been enlarged after it was built.

The westernmost capstone is missing, the central capstone is blown into 2 pieces. Trapezoid chamber, partly filled with earth. Clear size 6m x 2,5m-2m.

No. 1 (counting from West) is blown into 1 large and 2 small fragments (the latter not visible in this picture) an partly collapsed into the chamber.
No. 2: is one of the largest capstones in this area, measuring approximately 4,1m x 2,6m x 1,8m. It is still resting on its orthostats, but not in situ. April 2008

A rectangular enclosure, 50m in length and 7m ind breadth, is comprised of large erratic blocks; at its centre is an irregular shaped grave chamber which is 6.8m in length, 2,1 to 2,4m wide and 1.6 to 1.7m heigh. The structure is original covering of soil were reconstructed after the excavation. The back of the chamber was left open (a bit) so that light could penetrate the interior. You'll find this great site about 4km south of the city of Wildeshausen in the county of Oldenburg (OL): 52° 51....
