Neolithic cup and ring carvings were discovered this summer on the Binn, a hill just north of Burntisland. The hill is known simply as the Binn - a volcanic plug, the name is thought to be derived from the Brythonic Bryn - hill, degraded over the years simply to Binn. Birkenmoor Dolmen (3) submitted by holger_rix on 23rd Mar 2009. Extended Dolmen in the Birkenmoor area, near Kuhholzberg.
Just 35m from the street, you have a nice view on the chocolate side
of this Dolmen when you drive by.
The two uprights of the southern side are missing, but the 2.5m by 1.5m
capstone is still resting safe. For sure a beauty to look at,
perfect for the history interested tourist.

Long Barrow in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg
Birkenmoor is a part of Schwedeneck, on the 'Daenischer Wohld' peninsula between Kiel and Eckernfoerde.
Located at the 'Osdorfer Landstrasse' L44, not far from the street.
Close to Birkenmoor Langbett (8), like a twin.
Remains of a rectangle shaped 28m x 7m hunebed.
There are two burial chambers, extended dolmens.
The barrow has been examined in 1950, with excavations of those two chambers.
