The well used to be at the foot of the manse garden but the building of the Drummuir to Mulben road means that it is now about 50 yards to the right of the road almost opposite a side road leading to the present church .... which is a convenient place to park.

build with 7 orthostats on each long side in NE-SW orientation.
The NE single orthostat on the short side is in situ.
There are 4 orthostats of the NW long side still in position,
5 on the opposite. (According to Sprockhoff's text)
Nowadays it seems that you can see the tips if one
more orthostat on each side.
Remains of most likely a former capstone are resting
in the chamber. More remains of former capstones are
scattered around ...

Großsteingrab Hosüne submitted by Martin_L on 26th Apr 2008. The only remaining stone of Megalithic Tomb Hosüne. According to its size it either was a small roofstone or a larger orthostat. It is situated only a few meters north of the Huntlosen-Hengstlage road.
The place-name signs of Huntlosen are visible in the background [April 2008].

Hampston's Well submitted by TimPrevett on 5th May 2008. The main entry has good details. On arriving there is space for two cars, and even a bag for litter! Two large embedded columns give information about the sites history, linking them to Burton Iron Age settlement and Anglo Saxon usage. Steps lead down into a wide open area into which seem to flow a number of tributary springs - though given Cheshire and Lancashire had some flash flooding last night with horrendous thunder and torrential rain, much of this wider area was a mud bath. A bit of a bugger to find, as it's not visible from the road. Take the road south out of Warham, over a narrow bridge and a few hundred yards later you come to a passing place with two gates. The right hand gate is the track down to the camp.
