Coldrum submitted by thecaptain on 3rd Sep 2004. The eastern face of Coldrum long barrow. It is said that it was built on a natural terrace in the chalk landscape, which has now partly worn away due to erosion, so letting the eastern end of the barrow collapse down the slope.

Fortica submitted by thecaptain on 30th Sep 2004. Splendidly positioned overlooking Hvar Town, the remains of the fortress date largely to the 16th century. However, the foundations of this castle are built upon remains of an ancient hillfort which dates back to the second millennium BC, some remains of which can still be seen under the south walls.

Although the fishing fleet was in, it looks from this photo that the barrows had gone out !

Hvar Castle Museum submitted by thecaptain on 30th Sep 2004. Within Hvar Castle is a small museum, which contains some items found in ancient shipwrecks of the Dalmatian region. Amongst these remains are several amphorae, some of which date back to the 5th century BC.

To the west of the town of Bol can be seen the Zmajeva Spilja cave, above the fertile lands no doubt farmed for many thousands of years.

About 100 metres below the Three Boys Stone can be found a large flat stone, with what looks like a slab mounted on edge nearby. Could these be the remains of some form of cairn or cist associated with this now destroyed row?

At the northern end of this ruinous single stone row can be seen a few stones larger than the majority of theose remaining. Most of the remaining stones are very small and difficult to spot under the grass
