Sölden menhir submitted by theCaptain on 20th Feb 2015. Within central Sölden, there is a large stone of 3 to 4 metres height just standing there.
I have no idea as to whether this is an ancient menhir, but what else would it be doing here?

Stoanerhof stones
Date Added: 29th Oct 2019
Site Type: Standing Stones
Country: Austria
Visited: Yes on 20th Feb 2015

Stoanerhof stones submitted by theCaptain on 20th Feb 2015. To the southern side of the town of Mayrhofen, in the locality of Stoanerhof, a couple of large stones can be seen standing at the sides of various lanes between the farms and chalets. I only have pics of this one.
I have no idea whether they are ancient menhirs, but they don't look natural to me, and look to have been stood in their positions deliberately.

Log Text: It annoys me that I have no photos of this from my visit in 1998. I had another look through my old boxes of photos and there was nothing at all that day of my cycling holiday, although I could have sworn differently. Perhaps my camera was left in my tent as we visited it on a day ride out from Oudenaaard. Very unlikely, I could swear I had pictures of a local windmill and the bar where we had lunch, but nothing was found.

Quebec ice dolmen submitted by theCaptain on 22nd Dec 2009. Each year in February, the wonderful city of Québec holds a massive winter carnival, the Carnaval de Québec. Among the many events and festivities is an ice sculpture competition, with entries from around the whole world.
The year I visited, 1989, amongst all of the various ice carvngs and sculptures, there was a massive ice dolmen, made I believe by some Breton people. I could not of course, pass it by without taking a photograph.
