Bennet's Cross

Bennet's Cross submitted by thecaptain on 2nd Aug 2006. This is a lovely cross, believed to have been carved from a prehistoric menhir. It stands about 1.7 metres tall, and is just beside the B3212 road near its high point as it crosses the moor between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge.

Log Text: One of the best sites to visit anywhere. So big there is a village, with shop and pub inside it. We have been many times, and the Red Lion pub is a must stop too for lunch or a drink. Great site to visit in the winter, as well as summer. Don't miss walking up the procession way across the road that leads up to the circle. There are numerous gathering there on special dates.
