Log Text: This circle is, and feels, so very incomplete. The stone wall that passes close by, is too near, invading their already robbed space
There where 6 boulders of Shap granite, who may well have come from that site, around an area I wandered. brilliant if they could be moved back/ or too the site, and if someone/s could figure out how they, and where they should be.
There's sure to be more around..
Many stone walls with older stone posts.

Date Added: 26th Oct 2011
Site Type: Henge
Country: England (Yorkshire (North))
Visited: Yes on 1st Jun 2011. My rating: Condition 4 Ambience 5 Access 3

Castle Dykes submitted by rich32 on 7th Jul 2004. Castle Dykes Henge, nr Aysgarth, North Yorkshire (SD98228728)
The henge has a diameter of about 75m with the ditch being up to 2m in some places. There are entrances to the north, south & east, although only the eastern one is thought to be original and of antiquity.
This henge is fairly well preserved, but as seems obligatory with our henges its covered in cow poo. This photo (looking east) does not really do the site justice.

Tyfos submitted by vicky on 7th Jun 2002. Tyfos Circle, Llandrillo, Denbighshire GR: SJ028388
This fantastic little circle lies in a farmer's field adjacent to a country lane near Llandrillo. Around 20 stones stand in a ring which has been described as either a denuded ringcairn or a free-standing stone circle. Although it is on private land it is well worth a visit and there are several gaps in the hedge making viewing easy.

Castle Crag is the small pointed hill in the center of the valley.
The setting winter sun throws a shaft of sunlight through Honister pass into the valley. Magic!

Log Text: This place to me is just wonderful. It is steep, but taking rests you can see Borrowdale start to stretch out below, even if you just got 1/2 way up, you'd be glad you had.
There are coves, and many various slate compilations, some are in the photos posted, it appeared like a beehive of activity [though there was no one around].
I feel, that like me , they will all want to return to see how their slate structures are faring.

Note to visitors: if you find yourself in a farmyard with three ferocious dogs, you've gone too far. Go back down the hill and look for the metal gate on the right. The circle is on a small hill beyond the gate.

Site Type: Cave or Rock Shelter
Country: Croatia
Visited: Would like to visit

Nakovana Cave submitted by Andy B on 25th Jan 2012. When the team went through the tunnel they found themselves entering a chamber which nobody had visited in more than 2,000 years. A phallic shape stalagmite was discovered along with thousands of pieces of fine Hellenistic drinking vessels. Tiny pieces of ivory were also discovered that had to be carefully reconstructed, they turned out to be the remains of the oldest known astrologer's board.
