Log Text: Dolmen de Samson
This Dolmen is found in the commune of Ceyrat, Puy de Dôme. We have to take the Route national RN89, then we can park in a small parking area before taking the path along the brook called l'Artière and the “gorges de la Ceyre” in the direction to the village of Berzet.
The dolmen is situated in a beautiful area along the path meandering the brook of l'Artière. The path is well signposted blue and yellow for a route of 2 hours or 2.30 hours. This is a big monument, probably destroyed by an earthquake sometime ago, so the pile of rocks we could see now does not resemble at all the original monument. Ceyrat is situated in the volcanic area of the Puy de Dôme and seismic movement seldom occurs.

L'Usteau du Loup

L'Usteau du Loup submitted by thecaptain on 10th Sep 2006. To the south of St-Gervazy, near to the hamlet of Unsac, can be found the remains of this fine dolmen, perhaps the largest in the region, and which is signposted from nearby. This is a fine place for a wolf to live, and there are many legends and stories associated to the place.

Log Text: Unfortunately an idiot has graffitied the stone with an inverted triangle. I met a local, precisely a former teacher of history who lives in Aubières and told me that a couple of years ago the council excavated the area and the experts thought the stone has been moved from an original place to this present location.
