Stairs have been installed to allow a visitor to climb to the top of the mound while still preventing errosion. The main excavation at Angel was done by Glenn Black in the 1930's and 40's. He felt that differences in vegetation indicated that a wooden stairway had once existed in the mound on this face. Photo copyright by bat400, June 2006.
